First XI Hockey downed by Westlake Boys’ High

The First XI hockey boys were beaten convincingly 0-3 by a well drilled Westlake Boys” High in the Super city competition at North Harbour Stadium.

The first half was evenly contested with both teams creating opportunities. However, Westlake scored off two well taken penalty corners which both came from King’s defensive turnovers. The third goal was a field goal which came in the dying minutes of the game. King’s managed to  force two penalty corners in the first half but on both occasions were let down by poor traps.

Despite the loss, the team can still qualify for the semi final if we they win at least two of their remaining games.
