Premier touch suffer their first loss

Never easy after the Tuesday House athletics, King’s were unable to maintain their unbeaten record and succumb to a very good Sacred Heart team 3-5. The disappointment was in the inaccuracies and missed opportunities but the chance to redeem this will hopefully be in the finals if the competition runs to form.
King’s started strongly and were up early with Harry Kaveriri scoring off a Dayton Iobu scoop. We found ourselves trailing however at halftime 1-2 and even with fine tries to Ali Leiataua and Zealin Prime, both off Chicago Doyle snipes, it was insufficient to pull back a rampant Sacred team.
Unfortunately the second game against Westlake started in similar fashion. A sign of the fatigue was Ethan Stuart getting an intercept and being unable to make the line with tight hamstrings. The team battled bravely and ultimately got the result 6-4. Budda Doyle was significant scoring 3 tries, with Troy Faiva, Meihana Grindlay and Stuart picking up the others.
Positions on the log will be determined by point differential with 3 teams (King’s, Sacred Heart and Grammar) only having lost a single game. Last round robin play is next week.
