King’s Premier touch finish strong to end the round robin top of the table

Even the congested Auckland traffic impacting on us arriving 3 minutes before the start was not enough to stop the Kings team securing top position moving into semi finals.
Kings started well against MAGs and were up 2-0 early thanks to tries by Zealin Prime and Aidan Morgan. The game got messy until on the hooter a beautiful inside ball from Ethan Stuart put Chicago Doyle in space and he ran 50m for the try. Kings went into the break 3-1 ahead.
MAGs started the second half the stronger and scored early. Further Kings tries to Doyle and Meihana Grindlay seem to put the game out of reach, but MAGs refused to give up. With the score at 5-4 the senior players stepped up and simple plays led to tries to Morgan and Stuart in the last few minutes and a 7-4 victory.
Kings end round robin play equal with Sacred Heart and AGS on the log with one loss each. Kings will qualify highest as we have the best points differential with 48 tries for and 19 against.
Kings will play Westlake in one semifinal and the tough clash of AGS vs Sacred will be the other.
