Hockey is a one of the College’s most successful winter sports. Students play in Auckland Secondary School competitions on mid-week evenings during Terms Two and Three, with both the boys’ and girls’ First teams attending National Tournaments in Term Three.

The College is most fortunate to have an Internationally Certified water-based turf. Each year the College enters up to seven boys’ teams and two girls’ teams into the Auckland competitions.

Our boys’ First XI has a proud history of strong competition at the top end of the national schools’ league.  King’s College has been in the top four teams each year since 2004, winning the most prestigious National Rankin Cup Tournament in 1999, 2005, 2011 and 2012.

Students from King’s have regularly been selected into National U18 and U21 teams and Old Collegian Simon Child was a member of the NZ Black Sticks team that competed at the 2012 London Olympics.
